Ming-Li Chen

Born in Taichung in 1972. Graduated from the Nursing and Midwifery Department of Chung Tai Medical Technology College in 1992, obtaining a nursing license; graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Kaohsiung Medical College in 1996; obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry from National Chung Hsing University in 1998. Began teaching at a junior high school in 1999.

In 2005, completed specialized courses for teachers of senior high school art and junior high school art and humanities visual arts, obtaining a teacher’s certificate. She then taught art and visual arts courses for many years until her retirement in 2024.

In her artistic studies, she began studying ink painting, sketching, and calligraphy in 1992; since 2017, she has focused on the study and creation of gouache painting, a practice she continues to this day.

In calligraphy and painting, she was fortunate to receive the following awards in 2016: an award of excellence in the Zhisheng Cup National Calligraphy Competition, an honorable mention in the 1st National Chengchi University Calligraphy Art Award National Calligraphy Competition, and an honorable mention in the Shengshou Cup Calligraphy Competition. In 2017, she again received the award of excellence in the Zhisheng Cup National Calligraphy Competition and an honorable mention in the Tzu Kuang Shan Humanities Award National Calligraphy Competition. In 2019, she received the award of excellence in the Taiwan Cup National Calligraphy Competition. In 2022, her gouache painting was selected for the Wanhe Art Exhibition (Chinese Painting category).

Over the years, she has also participated in joint exhibitions of the Changhua County Calligraphy Association and the Taiwan Gouache Painting Association, continuously cultivating and showcasing my achievements in calligraphy and gouache painting.
