Tzu-Yi Chen, born in Kaohsiung, currently resides in Hsinchu. A graduate of the Department of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Applied Sciences, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University and National Taipei University of the Arts.
Her work primarily utilizes painting, focusing on the often-overlooked moments of tranquility in everyday landscapes. Through the interplay of city, nature, architecture, and plants, she constructs a poetic space between reality and imagination. Exploring memory, time, inner contemplation, and the state of being, she presents a gentle yet spiritually rich visual language.
In recent years, her work has gradually expanded from personal perception to a delicate portrayal of the rhythm of urban life, the relationship with nature, and a female perspective, oscillating between realism and surrealism to form a uniquely distinctive painting style.
